On Friday 15th September, the Kingsfleet team hosted a wine tasting event at Shotley Vineyard as a thank-you to those who have supported the business over the years.
Shotley Vineyard – a relatively new Suffolk business – offers a contemporary venue with award winning wines and picturesque views overlooking the Orwell and Stour estuaries. The setting made for an enjoyable day as the sun was shining as we took a tour through the Vineyard.
Professional WSET trained guide, Graham, took us through the history of the Vineyard and the story behind owner, Charlottes Davitt-Mills, reinstating the Vineyard whilst exploring the plot whilst on maternity leave, but also the intricacies of wine production, different grapes, and how the seasonal changes are improving wine in our region, and the UK.
The inspiring tour was followed by tutored wine tasting, which included Shotley Vineyard’s Bacchus and Pinot Noir, followed by a generous grazing platter for all guests.
If you want to combine some fabulous wine, a bite to eat and a bit of educational engagement, we highly recommend the tour and tasting for a great day out. You won’t be disappointed by the beautiful location and warm welcome.
