Proud sponsor of Felixstowe Floods 1953 – Never To Be Forgotten

Kingsfleet are proud to sponsor a new local history book, presented to primary and secondary schools in and around the Felixstowe area, enabling future generations to learn more about the tragic floods of 1953.

Marking the 70th anniversary of the North Sea surge that caused devastation along the east coast, author Jean Macpherson has carefully recorded the untold stories and memories of those who died or survived. Her book, called “The Felixstowe Floods 1953 – Never To Be Forgotten”, sheds new light on how the disaster unfolded, the impact of the flood and how the town dealt with the aftermath.

Presentations of the books were made at seven primary and two secondary schools and Kez was delighted to be invited to Colin’s old school, Kingsfleet Primary, to make a special presentation to the pupils and teachers.

If you would like to find out more about this book, Jean will be at this year’s Felixstowe Book Festival on 24th June. For more information please visit:
